Happy Birthday America and Happy 4th of July Everyone!
It was our original intent to provide you with a very long newsletter in which many topics could be browsed at your convenience. Our schedule has been interrupted, so we are presenting you with this shortened edition and will release another edition in about a month.
In the near future, newsletters and articles will be sent to subscribers of the updated website. Since you are a subscriber to this newsletter, you will automatically become a subscriber of the new website. If you do not want to be a subscriber to the website, please let us know in the during the month of July if you do not want to be a subscriber to the new website. Newsletters will be sent using the website mailing feature and we will reduce our use of Mail Chimp.
The Oxford Clan by the late Dale Reid of Caldwell County, North Carolina is our featured article. The article is an extremely well researched endovers many the descendants of James Oxford and Hannah BARNES Oxford. Their son William Dotson Oxford, Sr. (1822-1903) lists all of his descendants born before 1948. It also provides some information regarding Handsome Jim Barnes and spouse Sarah Carter.
With the transition from Hugh to Julie, The Barnes of Kentucky and Missouri was removed from the menu. It is now back on the menu for your review.
Having been appointed guardian, for a relative who recently passed, I fell short in meeting deadlines to get out our newsletters and updates to the website. With his passing, we are returning to a normal schedule. For the first time, the newsletter is being added to the website. Several items are being placed here while the new site is being developed. A more logical organization will occur when the new site is operational.
